TIME by becosky... from flickr Time management is very important. As an Active procrastinator, I can typically get work done at the last minute, but sometimes I don't plan enough time that's where the "eating the biggest frog first" would come in handy. If the project seems really big, I might need to just get it done right away. I typically don't employ a time management strategy and that hasn't always lead to the best outcome and is normally the biggest problem I have to overcome each semester. The two articles I read were 3 Steps to Recapture Time and Eat The Frog
Technology! by Spensatron 5000 from flickr I'm interested to see how these blogs will develop throughout the semester. I'm also interested to check out some of the other tools like twine. I use my computer to write a lot so I had most of the extensions already installed and they are very helpful.
This has been a very interesting first week, while I may have gotten a late start I've really enjoyed getting all this set up. I'm really interested in the story telling aspect of this class. I can't wait to dive into it. This class is unlike any class I've ever taken so I'm really interested to see how it goes.
Growth Mindset? by Kris McGuire from flickr This is the first time I've heard of Carol Dweck, but I have heard a bit about the growth mindset. I don't remember how I learned about it but as I grew up I knew that believing that you can do something is half the battle. When it comes to school I try my best to never go into anything thinking that it is impossible. I am always open to trying new things and never assume that it's impossible to learn. I think that it's very important that teachers are working to insure that students are in a state of mind that as long as they
Hedgehog by Jesus Duarte from Flicker Hello! My name is Jordan. I'm a Junior, and my major is Japanese. My goal is to teach English as a second language overseas. My favorite class last semester was Pre-Modern Japanese Literature with Professor Frydman. I loved his interactive style of teaching and his optimistic personality. I don't have any pets, but I want to get a hedgehog at some point. I like to write, read, play video games, and crochet. I also love to cook and trying out new dishes. My favorite dishes to make are typically Asian dishes that I've never tried befo
Photo by ThomasLife from flikr The first storybook I looked at was "Legend of the Monkey King" by Adrian. I love the story of the Monkey King and the intro really has me excited to see Adrian's take on the story, especially after reading that they had incorporated the Terracotta Army into the story. The second storybook I looked at was "The Baba Yagas' Gifts" by Natalie M. I have heard about Baba Yaga through a Pathfinder campaign that I ran, but I'm not too aware of her origins. The way Natalie starts off her introduction with the strange dialog between the multiple
Schloss Neuschwanstein personal image 2013 My favorite place is Castle Neuschwanstein. It's a beautiful castle that inspired Disney's Cinderella castle. It's located in southern Germany and is open to tour. This picture was taken from a bridge that gives a perfect view of the castle from its side. If you ever travel to Germany I highly recommend checking it out.
